A poem about what could be..
I spent my afternoon reading this wonderful graphic novel by Brian Lee O'Malley. A lot of what the protagonist was going through, resonated with me on some level. I do urge people to check it out.
I used to hear a lot of Imogen Heap in my teenage years. She had the perfect balance between happy and sad in her songs. Especially "Last train home"
I feel an inexplicable pull towards the sea, and everything related to it. Watching waves crash upon the shore stirs up something in my soul. I've been writing a lot of haikus recently, and this one is about the sea.
Today, I spent the better part of my evening reading and learning about Norway. I'm filled with immense desire to journey to the country, and witness the scenic beauty it has to offer. I came up with this haiku when i realised the high cost of living in Norway.
I found this incomplete poem in my drafts. I recall writing it when I was drunk. I can't quite remember the direction I wanted to take with this poem when I was inebriated, but I tried my best to complete the poem as well as I could. This poem is inspired by the music video of "Afterlife" by Arcade Fire
Today, I spent a great deal of my time reading up on Marcel Proust. He's said to be the quintessential 20th century writer, spending his life writing volumes of his novel that no one reads. "In search of lost time" really resonated with me.
